Tooling & Mold Manufacturing Capability
SUSDURA provides one-stop tooling support from product design and mold engineering to machining, inspection, mold trials and mass-production validation.
Our in-house tooling team develops multiple types of thermoset composite tooling, including:
- SMC & BMC Compression Molds
- BMC Injection Molds
- FRP Pultrusion Dies
- Custom Thermoset Composite Tooling
For critical mold cores and high-wear areas, SUSDURA uses premium tool steels such as ASSAB 8407, supporting mold life of more than 1,000,000 molding cycles under appropriate operating and maintenance conditions.
Our tooling facility is equipped with German-imported CNC machining centers, more than 100 grinding machines, and CMM inspection systems housed in temperature- and humidity-controlled measurement rooms. Critical mold dimensions are controlled to support production capability targets of Cpk ≥ 1.33.
Annual Tooling Capacity
SMC/BMC Compression & Injection Molds: Up to 200 Sets / Year
Pultrusion Dies: Up to 1,500 Sets / Year
By integrating product engineering, tooling, material development and molding production within one manufacturing platform, SUSDURA can shorten development cycles and reduce the communication gaps between product design, mold manufacturing and mass production.
Mold Engineering & Precision Control
At SUSDURA, mold engineering starts together with product design. Our engineers consider manufacturability, operator interaction, production efficiency, maintenance requirements, mold life and total manufacturing cost to develop tooling suitable for stable long-term production.
During machining, critical mold inserts are individually inspected by CMM. After final mold assembly, the complete mold is measured again, and dimensional inspection records are archived for traceability and can be provided to customers as part of the tooling documentation.
For thermoset molds, SUSDURA also applies strict control to the heating-system design and heating-element selection, helping maintain more uniform and stable mold temperatures during production.
For applications requiring higher levels of process control, molds can also be equipped with temperature and pressure monitoring systems, providing additional real-time process data and an extra layer of control for consistent SMC and BMC molding.
